Let’s face it. We’re only a couple weeks into this COVID-19 Coronavirus Crisis and we’ve overloaded on Amazon Prime and Netflix.

Is there anything to watch that doesn’t remind us of life before the pandemic?

With social-distancing a constant for the foreseeable future, I’m setting aside a couple of hours more each day to read.

Before our world got turned upside down, I favored historical novels and autobiographies from our top business leaders. Bob Iger’s book, The Ride of a Lifetime, was beautifully written. But, I cannot imagine digging into another book like that; even a guy as smart and emotionally intelligent as the Walt Disney Company’s board chair could never have imagined a pandemic that would, in an instant, power down his company’s theme parks and retail locations AND the entire world.

At the urging of my new friend and fellow podcaster, Isar Meitis, I’ve started digging in to author Nir Eyal’s Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life.

I’m reading for fun, but also for inspiration. Eyal’s book feels like a path we can follow to reclaim the value of our time and experience with, but also away from, the work that we do. Thanks, Isar, for the excellent recommendation!
